 Ross gave me these words...

paintbrush
infamy
tarantara
conversation
millstone

Hmm...
Paintbrush - paint!
Infamy - to be famous by doing foul deeds [Like Ross working for Microsoft... 8-) ]
Tarantara - big spider and you gotta be nice to it.  Irritated it, it might bite you. Irked it too much, it will add venom to the bite.
conversation - two way conversation is cool. Add more people to the mix and I'm in the land of lost. (I lipread!)
Millstone - something major that happened

OK.  Found one thing that pop the ACC Fuse in my van..., my phone charger.  That probably caused the fuse to pop originally in the first place.  I'm going to the store to pick up some fuses as back up for the ACC fuse replacement.  And no, I won't be using my car phone recharger anymore.

 Bwa Ha Ha Ha....

For a few weeks, I have been driving around with a dead radio with the alarm ready light blinking on it.  After checking the radio fuse, I figure it must be a electrical problem under the dashboard.

I didn't want to take it in for electrical problem repair and pay a lot of money.

I look for a car repair manual at Krangen store.  They didn't have any there.

I had forgotten the mighty power of the internet and Google search.

This morning, it occurs to me to go ahead and try putting this in Google - Honda Oddyssey Radio.  Just to see how much those cost.

Found a website for people to post problems and solutions about the Honda Oddysey.  I found the problem and solution.  It was indeed the fuse but not the radio fuse.  It was the ACC fuse. $%^&*!  So I replaced the fuse and volia!!  The radio is alive!!!

That will teach me to respect the power of Google search.

Apparently, the quirk is this.  If the car was jumpstarted for whatever reason, it could kill the ACC fuse.

My minivan is basically an oversize minivan which lead to the argument that it's actually a van.  For the last couple of weeks, a my wife's friend had lend us the use of her minivan.  A couple of years ago or so, I had to sub in for the delivery guy at work for almost a year and drove the company's van.  There are noticable differences in driving them both.  As I was driving the new vehicle yesterday - I had to come to a conclusion that both terms would still applied since this vehicle is a mixture of both.

The most important point though is this... it drives very nicely once you get use to the gas peddle and your mind adjust to the size of the vehicle.

My parents, my wife, my children and I went car hunting last Saturday.  I was looking for a car within my price range, namely the tax refund range.  I didn't expect my parents to add to that.  Anyway I recruited them to help look for a car since they had experience in looking and purchasing a car.  To make the long story short, we got the Honda Odyessy 2002 minivan at a fantastic price.  The minivan is currently at my parents' house since my father is going to take it down to the shop to align the front wheels tomorrow.  After that, it will be park at our apartment complex.  To be honest, I was not expecting to get a minivan!!

Car
Last Saturday morning, our car was working fine.  Later at about 6:30 pm, the car refused to start.  Argh!!

Yesterday (Monday), called the tow truck and had it hauled to the mechanic close by.  The mechanic says - replace the engine or expensive repair!  Called my father and ask him to talk to the mechanic to furrow out the details. (He is indeed a wise man who know how to ask the right questions on technical details)  He asked a few questions to the mechanic and then came and pick me up.  We went over to the mechanic and the mechanic did a song and a dance (show and tell).  My father realizing that having the car tow from this mechanic to his own favorite repair shop would be counter productive.  Upshot is..., with the transmission slowly failing (might last another year) and probably having to replace the transmission along with the engine would be almost more then the value of the car.  So the deal is ..., time to get a new used car!!  Maybe.  We're giving ourselves a couple of days to think about it.

When my tax return comes in, I hope to use the most of the money for a new used car.  Until then I'm going to have to impose on my father for rides to work and back home.

This article was talking about the money shortfalls for the San Diego School District and no, not my children's school district.  When we moved here, I had a heart attack when I learned that the school buses here were not free.  And that we have to pay fees for the transportation.  Understandably though, the district has to watch the cost a bit carefully since they wanted certain things for the children like sports and music and before/after school programs.  More and each year, Lakeside School District move to have a little less funding from California since it's becoming more and more obvious that you can't really rely on California for funding help.  If the school district did that, they don't have to worry too much about having to lay off teachers and /or school workers unless they have their own shortfalls.

Desk
A couple of weeks ago, my little daughter got upset and slammed close the keyboard drawer of the desk.  It broked.  Finally I decided that I should do something about it.  I took the drawer and eyeball the situation.  And decided that I could actually drill new holes and reattached the sides to it if I turn the drawer around.  It worked!  I had been debating about getting a new desk but after looking around for one, had decided it was too expensive.

A while ago,  [info]rephetibel  mentioned that she missed the last episode of Doctor Who because she was giving birth to me in June 1971.  If it wasn't for me, she would have watch it.  So out of curiousity, I look up the Doctor Who Series of that time.  The series was called "The Daemons" and had five episodes.  It was interesting to read the article on it.  I checked ebay and it's only available in VHS.

So..., my wife talked to my doctor over the phone and it seems that there is a lot of wear and tear on one of my spine disc.  I'm supposely to get therapy to strengthen it up.  So now, I'm just waiting for paperwork to come through in the mail.

I went to the x-ray place early this morning and they took a couple of shots.  Then I went in to work.  I probably won't know the details until tomorrow or so.

 A very close call.

My oldest daughter and I were coming home from the milk and water run tonight.   We were turning left at the intersection on green arrow light.  For some reason the van zooming off the freeway decided to stay within the freeway mph ran the red light and come exremely close to pulverizing us.  I think he/she only missed us by a foot.

Wow.

At the very least, I'm glad we weren't hit.

Now, all I have to worry about is to go in for x-ray tomorrow morning.  Lately my back has been going a little crooked to the right oftentime.  The doctor wants the xray to see what's up.
